A good audit ends with decisions, not a long list of warnings. Use this checklist to review where your site stands and decide what to do first.
Start with your goals
Decide what you want search to do for the business: more calls, more bookings, more online sales. Everything else in the audit should be judged against that.
Look at the data you already have
- Google Search Console: which searches show your site, and which pages get clicks
- Analytics: which pages bring visitors who enquire or buy
- Your Google Business Profile insights, if you serve a local area
Review the essentials
- Can search engines crawl and index your important pages?
- Does each key page have a clear title, heading and description?
- Does the site load quickly and work well on a phone?
- Is there a clear way to enquire on every page?
Compare with the competition
Search for your main services and see who appears. Note what those pages offer that yours do not, such as clearer explanations, better answers or stronger local signals.
Turn findings into a plan
Score each issue by likely impact and effort, then pick a short list to tackle first. A handful of well-chosen fixes beats a long list that never gets started.
